Hey folks, as of 2018, we are formally winding down the company. All the love is returned to you tenfold - thanks for everyone's support and participation!

  1PLs - Loans Near Me

Thanks from the Curious Frog Theatre Company.

Hullo! We are were a theatre company. After a number of exiciting seasons and then a couple years where things were a little more quiet, we've decided it's time to formally dissolve the organization. As much as we believe in a our mission and appreciate the casts and crews and audiences who gave so much support, we simply aren't in a place to mount new productions. We're keeping the site up as a record of what we accomplished and hopefully to provide some memories for all the great folks that were involved over the years. And now you have time to go and support all the other emerging theare in your neighborhood!

Much love and gratitude,
Everyone at CFTC

Our fifth year of Shakespeare in the Park is in full swing.

We finally caved: after five years of seeking out the the nooks and crannies of New York parks, we relented and scheduled some plays in Central Park (we know, we know). But it's all good! We also found a new location out in the wilds of Queens. So even as we worship at the altar of one of the most important free park venues for Shakespeare in the world, we continue our mission to take the very same productions to every corner of the five boroughs that will have us. Which means we will be returning to our usual haunts (Astoria, Pelham Bay, Inwood) for sure.

Also new this year is a number of oppotunities to see Shakespeare during the week. It's a packed schedule, with drama (Julius Caesar), comedy (Two Gentlemen of Verona), and on a couple of dates, both! Check out the show site for all the details.

Toni Seger: New Works 2011

Following up from our standing-room-only New Works night last spring, and coming to yet another art gallery near you is our second Staged Reading event, filled with good writing and acting. This time we feature Toni Seger. Seger is a novelist and the author of The Telefax Trilogy, a satiric series about our overly mechanized lives available at Amazon.

Surrounded by the work of the .NO Gallery's last installment of the North Star Series, New Yorkers have one last chance to catch this comtemporary Norwegian art installation.  The striking red pieces in this intimate spot provide a stimulating background for Seger's cutting, abstract shorts on society--and an intense environment for her commanding realism piece about a family dealing with a common tragedy.

Seger has a Bachelors in Theatre from Ithaca College (BFA ‘69) and a Masters in Educational Administration from Harvard University (EdM ‘74). She has produced, directed and acted in original plays for stage and television and is an award winning film maker with endorsements from Maine Public Broadcasting. Curious Frog will be featuring 3 of Seger's shorts: Yawn, Storyline, and Climbing, and a reading of her play Rope of Sands, in which three family members confront a cycle of a non-communication in the hopes of recovering from tragedy. The evening will include music, wine and refreshments, and a Q&A with Ms. Seger..

Sonnets! Valentine's Day! Just around the corner!

No reservations? No problem. This Valentine’s Day, drop in anytime to Curious Frog’s Sonnet- A-Thon, a performance of all of Shakespeare’s 154 sonnets in order from 6-10pm at SOHO20 Chelsea Gallery. Over 20 artists including musicians from Dye Violets and combatants from En Garde will dazzle your eyes and ears with their interpretations of the famous yet rarely performed sonnets, while our company members pour you wine and feed you artistically arranged foods. A suggested donation of $10 cash will go toward our TYA program, Curious Bard, set to launch this fall.

Audiences are encouraged to make Sonnet-A-Thon a part of their Valentine’s Day plans in any way they’d like. Guests may attend the whole evening, or drop in to catch a range of sonnets while enjoying food and drink, networking with the artists, or adding to a marathon date night. “Consider us an intellectual pit stop in the grand plans of your romantic evening!” says Curious Frog Executive Director Reneé Rodriguez.

Monday, Feburary 14th: 6PM-10PM
