Derby Thomas According to Wikipedia, Derby has Roman, Saxon, and Viking connections dating back over 2,000 years. During the Industrial Revolution, Derby saw the first water powered silk mill in Britain, built using reputedly stolen secrets of silk-throwing from Italy. Other famous 18th century figures with connections to Derby include the creator of the English dictionary, the painter Joseph Wright, and Charles Darwin's grandfather. For some reason, it does not include that Derby is extremely excited to be making his Curious Frog and New York debut. |
